Welcome to South America’s capital of glamour—Rio de Janeiro, where your hotel is available for mid-afternoon check-in.
Recently voted as one of the "7 Wonders of the Modern World", the 125-foot statue of Christ the Redeemer overlooks the city of Rio and the surrounding area. The tour includes a ride through some of Rio's best beach districts, the picturesque Logoa residential area, and then to the Laranjeiras sector, where the Corcovado Railway Station is located. The ascent is via cogwheel train, which winds its way through the Tijuca Rain Forest revealing breathtaking views of Rio and its harbor at every curve. The final stop is at the top of Corcovado Mountain 2,400 feet above the city where you will experience overwhelming views of the city. An escalator or elevator brings you to the observation deck at the foot of the monument.

Enter the Tijuca Rainforest in an open jeep, allowing you to see the contrast between the jungle and the modern city of Rio. You'll pass by the Cachoeira dos Macacos (monkey's waterfall) and the Vista Chinesa with a wonderful view of the southern districts of Rio. Along the way, you'll hear about the history of the reforestation process and the importance of the Mata Atlântica (Atlantic Forest). You will also drive by the Emperor's Table, Cascatinha Waterfall, and the Mayrink Chapel.
Finally, a short walk along easy trails of the forest gets you in direct contact with this amazing local ecosystem. This tour may also give you the opportunity to see monkeys, and various types of birds and butterflies.
